ANYONE WHOS SPENT ANY TIME WITH A 12 STRING WILL KNOW THAT THEY CAN BEHAVE BADLY,
EVEN WHEN TREATED NICELY.
I ORDERED THE REVEREND AIRWAVE FROM MIKE AT SOUNDCITY, PURELY BASED ON THE QUALITY
OF THEIR SIX STRINGS AND A COUPLE OF REVIEWS. STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX IT FELT
REALLY GOOD BUT I DROPPED THE ACTION (I LIKE IT LOW COS I’VE GOT PISS WEAK FINGERS)
I EXPECTED FRET BUZZ BUT GOT NONE…YAY.
PLUGGED INTO MY SETUP AND EVERYTHING IS THERE THAT YOU NEED SONICALLY. RICH, CRISP
AND EVEN. THE OCTAVES ON THE 5TH AND 6TH STRINGS ADD CLARITY TO ANY BASSLINES I
MIGHT PLAY WHILST THE 3RD AND 4TH PROVIDE THAT ‘PIXIES SINGING ALONG’ TYPE OF
EFFECT WHICH I REALLY DIG. WHEN YOU GET A 12 THIS PLAYABLE IT KIND OF MAKES YOU DO
THINGS THAT JUST WOULD’NT HAPPEN ON A 6, SO THIS IS GONNA BE A FUN AND FRUITFUL
EXPLORATION. I HAVE TO SAY, FOR WHAT I’M DOING, THIS IS A REALLY INSPIRING
INSTRUMENT THAT PLAYS GREAT, LOOKS CLASSY, FEELS SOLID AND STAYS IN TUNE. I BELIEVE
I WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY THIS AXE UNTIL WE GET CHEMTRAILED OUT OF EXISTENCE.
